The VIP programme allows students to combine their studies with research. You will work in a team on a research project and receive academic credits for your efforts.

What is VIP?

VIP stands for 'vertically integrated projects', which are:

  • Ambitious: Embedded in faculty scholarship and exploration
  • Collaborative: Enabled by vertical integration of teams
  • Large-scale: Teams can have dozens of students
  • Long-term: They span semesters, even years
  • Multidisciplinary: Students from different programmes participate

How to join a VIP team

You need to apply to a team before applying to the course to ensure there is a VIP team within your interests and skills. Contact the team leader and the VIP administrator to apply.

Choose a team

Once you have chosen a team that you think is right for you, email your application to the team leader. In the email, tell them what you are studying. Also describe in a few sentences why you have chosen this particular team and what you think you can contribute.

Write to the administrator

In order to register for VIP course you need to contact the VIP administrator at your department.
