Writing Lecture: Writing Abstracts and Introductions
Friday 16 October, 13:00 - 14:00
Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration)
CARS – Creating a Research Space
Strong academic papers begin with strong introductions. In this webinar, you will learn how to use the CARS (Creating a Research Space) model to write effective abstracts and introductions.
You will learn how to present your topic clearly, identify a research problem or gap, and explain the purpose of your study. You will also explore practical strategies for formulating research questions and guiding readers through your argument.
This lecture is part of the Writing Centre's series of short, focused sessions designed to support your academic writing and study skills.
The webinar is suitable for students at all levels. There will be opportunities to ask questions and reflect on how to make your own academic writing clearer, more focused, and more persuasive.
