Lecture
Climate, migration, refugees and the SDGs: Leaving no one behind
Monday 14 September, 14:00 - 15:30
Online
Staff and students from UNIC partner universities are invited to join the online lecture “Climate, Migration, Refugees and the SDGs: Leaving No One Behind”, an EU Presidency Associated Event hosted by University College Cork.
This event is given in partnership with UNIC and UCC Futures: Collective Social Futures. It will examine the interconnections between climate change, human mobility, sustainable development, and human rights through the framework of the UN 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
The event will begin with a welcome address by Minister Neale Richmond and a keynote speech by former Irish Ambassador David Donoghue, who has led key UN negotiations in these areas. This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring leading practitioners and researchers working in the fields of migration, humanitarian aid, climate action and social inclusion.
There will also be an opportunity to discuss related issues in the run-up to the Post-2030 Agenda.
