Workshop and PrintLab
PrintLab
As a student, you might have access to K3's workshop, Ioio lab and PrintLab located in Orkanen. If these resources are available to you, you will get more information from your programme coordinator through Canvas.
K3 workshop
The workshop is equipped with an extensive range of machinery and tools, including a laser cutter.
Basic materials
- Solid wood, pine
- MDF and plywood for laser cutting
- Styrofoam
- PET plastic for vakuum forming
- Masking tape, spray glue, melt glue
- Paint
- Welding solder
- Cloth, white cotton
- Cardboard, unbleached and bleached
- Sketching paper
- Corrugated cardboard
- Leftover materials
- Clay

PrintLab
Find large printers, scanners, post-print tools and a monitor calibration device.

Printers
44 inch printers (111.76 cm)
- Epson Stylus Pro 9900
- Epson Sure Color SC P900
Colour management with software (ImagePrint).
Standard paper Epson Enhanced Matte Paper (189 g/m²), print sizes up to 44” (width). PrintLab can also handle glossy paper. You are welcome to bring your own inkjet paper.
Scanners
- Epson A3 Scanner Expression 12000XL
- A4 Scanner Perfection V750 Pro
Both scanners also handle transparent materials (negative/positive up to 4x5 inches).
Other equipment
- Cutter
- X-Rite i1Display Pro, monitor calibration device (”WYSIWYG”)
- Post-print tools
Print settings
- Colour space: Adobe RGB (1998), do not use CMYK
- Resolution: 200–300 ppi
- Format: Pdf
- No layers, no alfa channels

Fees
To use the workshop and PrintLab, there's both a fixed fee and a fee related to the materials you use. The fixed fee is currently 480 SEK per semester.
